Personal Consumer Issues • Re: Should we buy a new car or wait?

Car safety has improved a lot in the 17 years since your 2008 was introduced. Especially with that many people I would replace it with a much newer vehicle just for the safety features since you can afford it.
That has been my concern of sort. I do put on 1,700 miles a month commuting to work. Mostly by myself.

If nothing else the second car would only need seating for six(including the driver) because the other adult would be with the other car if they are somewhere else with it.

I would challenge the need for two 6 or 7 passenger vehicles. It might not be as convenient but if you had to you could likely figure out how to swap cars and make it work with just one large car and a small sedan.
We need a 2nd minivan when we drop off our 2023 Sienna for servicing. In this case on the way back home two adults and kids go into the same car.
Can’t you just take it in by yourself and wait at the dealership/service center? A 2023 won’t need anything but routine maintenance which won’t take more than an hour or two.
