Personal Consumer Issues • Re: Anyone using SageSure for Home Insurance in CA?

These 2 show up on the SageSure website as the markets they use in CA

https://safeportinsurance.com/about/
https://www.sureins.com/
From the quote I received, it appears that SureChoice is underwriting the policy.
I think that is the same as the https://www.sureins.com/ link.
Safeport would've been better. It has an AM Best rating of A-.

SURE (SureChoice) is SageSure's own exchange, which it uses in Florida and other Gulf Coast states. The problem with Florida insurers is that they have concentrated exposure to hurricanes. SureChoice has a Demotech rating of A, which is equivalent to an AM Best rating of B. This is the first rating that carries a warning.

Do your mortgage lender accept policies from Demotech-rated insurance companies? Many of them still require AM Best ratings.
..
I don't have a mortgage.
I had never heard of SafeSure. Not sure how comfortable I am with them [since insurance is about laying off risk].
Thanks for your help, talzara and jbiz.

As an aside, I received a quote from Farmers for $17,104 !!!
TBH, I thought Farmers was not writing new policies in CA.
