Personal Investments • Re: Fixed Income and BND

Raises hand ... I am one of those. but this is how the bond funds have been described/sold on this forum prior to 2021.
This is ridiculous as that was never the general opinion on the forum of how these funds work and I'd like to see you provide some evidence of this claim you keep making because it is really smearing the folks that give advice here.
Regarding the "general opinion", you and I must have been inhabiting different universes. There are quite a few posters who still insist BND/VBTLX is all that's needed on the fixed income side, even after 2022.
That is not at all the same as saying that bond funds can't can lose share value and as far as being all you need that's an opinion which I don't use as I have been 50/50 bond index and stable value from the time I created my portfolio because I took the time to research the behavior of those to styles of fixed income with respecti to changes in interest rates and I've been saying that for a long time as had my buddy earl lemongrab so I didn't read our messages.
