Came across this thread when searching for any experiences with claiming an energy tax credit for insulation. We had a major attic insulation renovation in 2024 that involved removing all of the old thinned our cellulose and replacing with blown in fiberglass. However our contract does not list separate material costs, but just a description of the work. Did you have your upgrade done by a contractor and did you have them list the insulation cost separately on your contract?
In 2023 we dealt with an Insulation upgrade for the attic and had to separate the material costs from the labor.
