It's been a few years since I had any responsibility for corporate end user devices but I know during my tenure actual laptop theft declined to almost nothing. At this point even consumer grade devices have full disk encryption with lockout for too many failed login attempts and remote wipe capabilities so if they ever connect to a network again they automatically shutdown. Probably not completely foolproof but good enough to stop most would be thieves since there are severe limitations on their market.
I know for the last many years I haven't really worried about it and just put the laptop or iPad or whatever I may be traveling with under the dirty clothes![:D]( "Very Happy")
