OP, the advice you received from Vanguard sounds reasonable and generally consistent with the Bogleheads approach advocated here (I expect domestic / total bonds are more popular than international here), but if you are not comfortable with investing in those funds yet (understandable if you are new to these ideas), there is nothing wrong with leaving money in the money markets for now while you take your time, read through the materials and formulate an investment policy statement (document setting out rules for how you will invest going forwards). Do not feel like you need to rush into anything.

There is a lot of debate here about what asset allocation is 'optimal' for certain cases, but ultimately, it is critical that the asset allocation you hold is one you can 'sleep well at night' with - i.e. you are comfortable with it and can keep holding it with conviction regardless of what is happening in the market.
