And, I believe the fund's stated benchmark is the SP500. I just ignore that and hold it as a balanced fund choice.You're right. I messed up and in a stupid way. The combination of the phrase "capital appreciation" in the fund name, and the reported statements of David Giroux emphasizing stock selection, made me think it was a stock fund. Even though the initial poster mentioned that it was a balanced fund.
It's not a good comparison at all. PRWCX should be compared with a 60/40 or 70/30 portfolio.
Not an excuse, but I do see that T. Rowe Price saysThat seems like an odd way to describe what is currently a 55/45 balanced fund.The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in common stocks. It may also hold fixed income and other securities to help preserve principal value.
