I have some money coming to me. I want to put some of it in a CD. Can anyone recommend a good CD?

I will also put some on a Vanguard MMF. Is one MMF better than another?

I'd like to invest in some VOO slowly over time.

The money market fund you choose could be impacted by your state income tax, if you have to pay state income tax.

Some money market funds, like VUSXX, hold mostly (or entirely) US Treasury products, so the interest earned may not be subject to state level taxation. This can be important in places like NY or CA.

As for competitive CD rates, I'd probably use something like bankrate.com to search.
