Personal Consumer Issues • Re: Anyone Retired to Spokane/CDA Area? Health Care Options, Other Advice Sought

I’m not retired, but have lived in north Idaho and Spokane. Since opportunities for outdoor recreation are similar, for me, the theater, symphony, museums, and shopping tip the scales to Spokane. Big weather events, like heavy snowfall or high winds that cause prolonged outages seem to happen every 3 or 4 years. My impression is that if you choose a more populated area, like a housing development in Mead, Colbert, or Liberty Lake, you’d have a better chance for priority snow removal and restoration of power. I live on a rural road in Mead where these things take days, so we drive AWD SUVs with good clearance and have a snow blower and generator ready to go. As I get older, I see the appeal of living in a neighborhood with an HOA that handles snow removal from roads and/or sidewalks. We really like the Greenstone developments for their walkability and amenities.
