Sorry you are going thru this. Maybe a school system, university system, or local gov job would value your skills but be less political. Are there any contacts or clients you know from your current job? Is returning to an individual contributor position out of the question in your current position to buy time to find a new job?

Congrats on investing to date so you have a great backup. You can also collect unemployment if you are laid off.
I agree with this. Pay will be lower, but benefits are great, and work/life balance is also good. Also, college and government jobs (aside from the military) are less likely to discriminate against you because of your age.
