I think the Wells Fargo $2500 Premier Checking offer actually expired for a bit but it's now back through the 7th of January. My summary: get a signup code on the web site, open/upgrade to Premier Checking in a branch, bring in $250k of new funds by day 45, maintain $250k through day 90, keep Premier Checking open until bonus posts 0-30 days after day 90. No monthly account fee for the first 40-something days but after that if you don't have $250k in at the close of each month it's a $35 monthly fee, so if you don't like fees either keep your $250k there more than 45 days or time your account changes carefully. Do read the fine print, offers change!

I did it in September. Had opened free checking and WellsTrade accounts in preparation and let them settle a bit (and ECATS some choice MM funds to Fido that have a $10mm minimum there but none at Wells) so just doing an upgrade was quick and easy.

Possibly because of their past problems I have found Wells Fargo to be extraordinarily good about account and fee disclosures. So far it has been a quite civilized experience.
@glitchy, we just finished round of this for my DW. After it paid out, transferred the bonus to Fido except $500 in the premier checking, made an appointment and my wife downgraded to every day checking with a minimum balance of $500 to avoid fees, we will just keep that open. I transferred out the bulk of the assets to from WT to her Fido, left $1500 worth in SGOV, Sold that today, so we did not pay any ACAT transfer out fee, and I have a short term gain of $0.81. Looking to do this in January when I’ll be eligible to do it again.
