My numbers and funds are as follows:
Ally Savings-$93,692
Vanguard-$689,347 (Roth-$146,667 Taxable-$542,680) Taxable is all in VTSAX. ROTH has about 90% VTSAX and 10% VSMAX (small caps)
Checking account-$1549
2010 Toyota Corolla value -roughly $6500 per KBB
Income ranges anywhere from 70-90k . I also will have a pension at 65..but it will not be much..maybe like 1500 I am guessing if I put 30 years in. Treating that as gravy on the biscuit. No 401k. I am 39 years old.i have been at my job in casino industry for 15 years. Single, no kids, no real estate. How do you think I am doing? What can I do different, if anything? I was thinking years ago that I’ll add bonds when I hit 40. That being a year away, I don’t feel I need them..what do you think? Watching my money grow has been exciting. I’ve been investing since Sep of 2015. Getting roughly 40k into investments per year. I’m very frugal. I currently rent and my rent is very low..hence how I am able to save so much. Eventually want to buy a house, and would likely use most of my cash savings for down payment.
I would love to leave my job in the next 5 years or so. I follow the FIREmovement closely and would love to stop working in my 40. I don’t think I would retire completely, but part time work would be great. Dream is to own a home outright, and travel year round. I heard something today on The Money Guy podcast and he said he supports the FINE MOVEMENT..Financial Independence Next Endeavor….that’s right up my alley I think!
Overall, would love feedback, advice, and constructive criticism of where I am at. Thanks so much!
