The circumstance that this entire thread is about? It’s hard to tell if you are serious at this point.
Just say that you are not thrilled with the drop in value of TIPS bought before rates rose.

Interest rate changes do affect the value of TIPS on the secondary market in the same way that they affect nominal bonds.

I'm sure there are many people who bought into an intermediate- or long-term TIPS fund in 2021 or 2022 who are similarly unthrilled. Inflation-protection doesn't negate interest rate risk. That is probably why short-term TIPS are most effective when it comes to unexpected inflation.
