In my opinion, it's just too short a time period to say.
Knowing nothing about your overall financial situation, financial goals, risk tolerance, etc., I have no idea as to whether the 50/50 allocation you have is the best allocation for you. It is one of the main personal choices that make personal finance "personal". You can start with the Bogleheads wiki to learn more and start gaining comfort with choosing (or keeping) your own asset allocation.
I am not surprised at the numbers shown by portfolio visualizer. It's been an up and down last few years, and the bond devaluation was aided heavily by hitting the end of an historic 40-year tailwind of falling rates, that could not in any world be sustained forever. That said... will bonds underperform the next 3 years? One could argue they have already "reset" and stand to do much better. But no one knows, and if they tell you they know they are just trying to sell you something.
