I have TIAA Traditional, but I hold it in place of bonds and not equities. It makes up roughly 25% of my 403B with the other 75% split between domestic and foreign equities. It can be annuitized or she can do a transfer payout annuity either before or after retirement. The downside of TIAA Traditional is that you're taking on company risk even though TIAA's general fund has an extremely high credit rating (you can find some of these online).
