There is a lot that goes into the decision. My parents were retired feds who never took Medicare B, and so are some of my siblings.
We didn't opt for it for my DH who is pretty healthy and only takes one super inexpensive medication. I'm opting to take it because I have a complicated health situation with a ton of special equipment needed -- a medication that's delivered through a durable medical equipment, oxygen, and a few other things. I'll confess that I'll probably never be sure if I'm making the right decision or not.
