Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Re: Tree Fell on my property

Otoh, if a large, live, black walnut tree falls into your yard you just made a thousand or two thousand bucks at no cost to you. Unless you agree to let the neighbor sell your new tree and keep the money.
You know, we were looking at this huge black walnut in my friend's backyard the other day and it needs to be taken out. The wood is still good. He had a guy who was going to mill it on site and that would be his payment for removing it, but the guy came and set up his equipment, left to run to the store, came back 8 hours later took his equipment and was never to be heard from again. What do we even search for to find someone who would be interested in purchasing it for lumber (or just removing it at no cost to us)? We are in a mid size city. Is that a ... milling company? Remote milling company? He'd like to get it taken care of.
