Costco sells Top Tier gas. BJs does not.Hmmm, an increase in membership fee yet no change in membership benefits. 1st my Costco CitiCard decreased benefits and now this increase in membership fee. Thinking I'll just dump my Executive Membership for the Gold Star Membership and go into the store less thus avoiding the $100 cover charge.Recently, my local Costco has closed it's gas station for some upgrades, so no Costco gas for AllMostThere for this whole summer. Through DW's Capital One Card we got a BJ's membership for $10. Their gas costs the same as Costco, so we can still get better pricing on gas for the summer. I have recently been wandering inside BJ's store. I consider BJ's as a KMart type Costco with less breadth of selection. What they lack in selection they make up for in ease of shopping with no dodging of others in the store looking for food sample handouts nor the parking lot bumper car experience. I arrive home in one-piece with no stress from the shopping excursion. Hmmm, maybe it's time to let the Costco membership go and post it in the Daily Frugality thread.

Costco congestion is location dependent. I have seen crowds in other states and huge gas station lines. Not here.
