A rhetorical question: What’s the point of having an Investor Policy Statement if one so easily sets it aside? For this reason I’ve never made such a statement myself.
I reserve the right to change/reassess mine as long as it’s not in a period of market turmoil or decline. During a period of relative calm like we have now, I’m fine tweaking based on knowledge of the future I didn’t have.

For example I’m heavier on equities than I originally planned, but that’s because I’ve saved (a lot) more than I planned, so a % based bond allocation was looking ridiculously too big in absolute terms.

If I marry one day… I’m sure I’ll change it again — assuming we aren’t in the midst of a crash.
