I am an individual who is going to start a new job with base income of around 180K and 50k in stocks each year. I grew up with no money, so this is a great opportunity for me to figure out how I can save on taxes. I am currently in my mid-20s based in Seattle area.
The most effective ways to reduce your income taxes are to have kids, take out a mortgage, or give your money away.
If you really want to go in that direction then the most effective way -- bar none -- would be to stop working!

But I think the Original Poster was asking for advice on which ways would lead to the greatest net income after taxes.
