That is an excellent point. I have never understood why a brokerage would let you use them to buy Treasuries at no commission, if there was not some way for them to make a profit off of it.
For the 3 month T bill auction closing on 1/21/25, maturing on 4/24/25, Vanguard is currently showing an indicative yield of:

4.342%

In comparison, the Treasury has a 13 week T-bill listed as:

4.30%

Both of these are higher than XHLF, which has a 30 day SEC yield of:

4.24%
I usually compare STTs to VUSXX. The 30 day SEC yield on VUSXX is usually higher.
