Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Re: Withholding to date on SS payments?

I'm helping someone who isn't the greatest at tax matters like how much of ANY withholding they've done in 2024, or avoiding under-payment penalties

I know I can find their RMD data in Schwab easily (I suspect it was $0), but I need to confirm how much, if any, federal and state withholding they've got going on from their Social Security checks.

Is there a place on ssa.gov to look that up?

I'm not collecting SS yet so I can't look on the site myself and you'd be "amazed" how hard it is to craft a google search term on this topic.

Once I collect up all the info, I can then help them avoid underpayment penalties like happened to them last year, and several years before

Thanks in advance
A simple google “verify SS benefit withholding” revealed https://www.ssa.gov/manage-benefits

Also you don’t have to be retired or collecting to create a SSA account log in. I had a log in years before I retired or was even close to SS age. It’s good to have so you can check your wages history and make sure all your SS income is properly accounted for. Of course, you can only see your information. I recommend you create an account. It will help you familiarize yourself with the website and in turn you can help this “someone”.
Thanks! I expect that'll show what he's withholding right now (and how to change it), what I wanted to know is if it will show what he's withheld to-date. Hopefully what you're saying means it will.

Oh I have an ssa.gov account for myself and have been on it many times. But since I'm not collecting (52yo), I can't use my account as a test example to know where to look for him on his account. Oh and I don't even know if he has an ssa.gov account yet :-\
