That is pure market timing, plain and simple. Holding international is not mandatory, but if you're going to do it, pick an AA and stick with it. Based on forward PE's US stocks are very expensive relative to international at the moment. Some would say U.S. is in a bubble. It's hard to bet on a laggard when U.S. stocks are soaring high, but that's the essence of buying low, selling high.I still have faith in the short term that the US will continue to outperform and that I will still have time to add international slowly in the future if I start to see that change. I feel that although this could be considered market timing . . .
