Good point. I believe the Blue exchange rate is the street exchange rate. Argentines want dollars so they offer a better exchange rate for dollars than the official exchange rate. If you are going to buy something big, take US dollars to pay for it. Their leathers goods are great.When you go to Argentina look into the current exchange rate situation. When I was there most credit card purchases received a fairly good exchange rate. (Look up tourist dollar or blue dollar). The best exchange rate was for crisp new $100 bills. In Argentina five twenties is not the same as one hundred.
