That's the cost of doing online business really. Even in a brick and mortar store it's vanishingly unlikely you could try out the earbuds like you can with headphones so I imagine that they expect a higher level of returns. Bear in mind that the cost of materials isn't actually that great for earbuds, it's just a tiny battery and a small amount of plastic and they're made by the thousands. It's not actually costing hundreds of dollars for them to accept a return (which will likely be resold as a refurbished unit later).Maybe I should just get both the Sony and Bose and see what I prefer. It does seem wrong to order something with plans to return.I have the Bose and found them uncomfortable until I bought their additional sizes of ear tips/wings kit. Now they're perfectly comfy and the sound quality is great, no sync issues for me.
All in all, the top 3 are so close that it'll come down to preference. I'd imagine that many buy all three to try and return two which would explain the returns
